The Petroleum Industry Act, 2021 (“PIB” or “the Act”) has had the well-deserved attention of all stakeholders since it was introduced to the National Assembly in 2008. The Act signed into law this August (2021) aims to restructure the Nigerian petroleum industry -upstream, midstream, and downstream – by introducing changes to the governance, administrative, regulatory, and fiscal framework of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
