The Audit Committee plays an important role in assisting the Board to fulfil its oversight responsibilities in areas such as the Company’s financial reporting and audit processes, internal control systems, risk management, compliance with laws and regulations and the internal and external audit functions. The Internal Audit Function plays a critical role in organizations today and the Audit Committee must make effective use of the function in giving assurance on risk management, governance, and internal control systems.
