Abel O. Ajayi

Mr. Ajayi is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Having completed the professional examinations in 1971, he served across various units of the firm and was appointed as a Partner of Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co., a predecessor firm of KPMG Nigeria, in 1979. In 1989, he was elected by his peers as Partner-In-Charge of Audit & Accounting. His areas of specialization include Banking and Finance, Manufacturing and Consumer Businesses. 

He served ICAN as a member of Training, Library & Examinations committees and was an ICAN Assessor/Examiner in Auditing from 1980 through 1993. Mr. Ajayi was elected Chairman/Chief Executive of KPMG Nigeria in July 2002, a position he held until the merger of KPMG Nigeria and Akintola Williams Deloitte & Touche in June 2003. He served as Vice Chairman in the merged Firm, Akintola Williams Deloitte and retired from the Firm in May 2008. Mr. Ajayi is currently a Director at Elizade Nigeria Limited.
